Another summer signing by the club and probably the highest profile arrival, Paul began his career at Celtic where he was captain of the reserves side, and was a regular for the Scotland national under-21 football team, making ten appearances for his country between 2004 and 2005. During his three years at Parkhead Paul made three first team appearances and had loan spells at St. Johnstone and St Mirren. In 2007 Paul signed for Ross County where he went on to make 145 appearances over six seasons scoring 11 goals and winning both the Scottish First and Second Division Championships as well as appearing in the 2010 Scottish Cup Final. The last two seasons have been spent at Motherwell where a further 20 appearances were made including his debut in the Europa league qualifier against the Russians from Kuban Krasnodor.
