Kris is the second generation of legends in the Broch side of the Charlie Duncan era. His father, Rex, was a long team servant of the Bellslea club and Kris, whose career was cut short by his early entry into management was a well-known, much admired, no nonsense, rampaging striker at the same club which he returned to as a fully-fledged and well respected manager at an age when some others are still playing.

He earned his management credentials at Maud where in a couple of seasons, he transformed the Junior side into Superleague contenders, winning the First Division title in his first season in management. From there he was headhunted by Turriff United to manage their first seasons in the Highland league and overseeing the clubs transition from the juniors. After winning the Aberdeenshire Shield at the Haughs, the 2011/12 season saw him replace the long serving Charlie Duncan at Fraserburgh.

He pushed the Broch on to almost instant success winning the Aberdeenshire Cup against Formartine United in his second season, continuing the Broch policy of developing home grown local talent he showed the capacity to produce tight fighting performances from a squad based on a tight budget.

Eventually the lure of a budget pitched towards buying in quality players as well as developing local talent proved irresistible when Formartine United came calling. The lure was too strong and he joined us at North Lodge Park in the latter part of the 2014/15 season following the resignation of Steve Paterson.

Last season saw a radical restructuring of the squad where he directed United to a very strong 2nd position finish and a goal difference of over 100. He had little luck over injuries during last term with major injuries to the influential McKeown and Mcvitie and with minor tweaks, including the addition of Derek Young, Scott Ferries and Connor Gethins, he looks set to offer an even stronger challenge in the seasons ahead.
